The Import Traffic Coordinator will coordinate moderate-to-complex cross-border trade activities using customs compliance and supply chain logistics knowledge. In this role, you'll ensure the effective and efficient handling of these shipments to ensure continuous cargo flow from origin to Moe’s warehouses and partner distribution centers while at the same time adhering to Moe’s values and objectives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

Inbound Supply Chain Logistics

  • Responsible for ocean import coordination of merchandise and / or material in compliance with all Federal, state, local laws and regulations to both US and Canada.
  • Work with Moe’s overseas team to ensure all import documentation from overseas suppliers follows standards for clearance and compliance.
  • Shipment Track and trace :

At Origin / IN transit

  • Follow all shipments from cargo ready status to delivery
  • Ensure all import shipments ready at origin are entered into tracking system to begin tracking and tracking.
  • Track the movement of shipments and maintain up-to-date status in tracking system to ensure maximum visibility, from factory door to final destination.
  • Ensure all shipments have freight releases prior to port arrival
  • Provide update reports to warehouse and partner facilities of import traffic long term / short term forecasts.
  • Assist in maintaining supplier accounts : Coordinating supplier payments, reconciling supplier accounts, maintaining accurate records for landed cost recording.
  • At Destination :

  • Communicate and coordinate with freight forwarders and drayage on delivery appts and availability status at ports, as well as other logistical issues involving tracking cargo from Factory door to final destinations as needed.
  • Work closely with warehouses to provide visibility while facilizing communication between warehouses and partner drayage for delivery to meet efficiency objectives.
  • Continuously research and resolve operational problems
  • Customs Compliance

    Day to Day

  • Submit all import documents to MOES partnering customs brokers for clearance and ensure all import ocean containers are cleared
  • Work closely with partner customs broker on import product classification
  • Ensure all exception certificates for documents (Lacey Act / TSCA Title IV, CETA, CPTPP) are included and complete to ensure compliance and exception status where compliant and applicable.
  • Coordinate with partner customs broker to assist the procurement team / product development team on obtaining the correct landed cost of items that are up for bid by supplying duty rate, ensuring all standards and trade compliance regulations are adhered to while finding opportunities to mitigate risk and tariff exposure.
  • Maintain proper records for CBP / CBSA
  • Maintain HS codes database
  • Designated Ongoing Customs Projects :

  • Coordinate with partner customs broker on duty drawback, Antidumping and countervailing duties, and exclusion refunds where applicable
  • SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in Customs Compliance and import traffic coordination
  • Completion of Canadian Society of Customs Brokers Certificate, or Certified Customs Specialist is an asset.
  • Extensive Knowledge of logistical delivery requirements / Freight Forwarding / Supply Chain Logistics.
  • Knowledge of warehousing, shipping, receiving, inventory and traffic functions and terminology
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures with respect to Import / Export
  • Excellent computer skills (e.g. : spreadsheets, databases, systems)
  • Ability to handle large volumes and meet tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail; organization, completeness, and accuracy
  • Good analytical skills with problem-solving ability
  • Flexible and open to assisting in related tasks for benefit of the team and company objectives.

  • The salary range for this role is $55,000 - $62,000 per year.
