Senior Advisor, Data Engineering – Desjardins
As a senior data engineering advisor, you help develop solutions for collecting, integrating, consolidating, cleaning, sorting and transparently mining data. You develop, maintain, support and run computer applications and data pipelines, ensuring functional analysis, IT design, coding, fine-tuning and documentation of programs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the design and building of data collection systems and platforms for a wide range of complex data engineering initiatives.
- Oversee the development of data pipelines, and the integration, transformation and consolidation of data from different systems into structures that are adapted to a wide range of contexts.
- Oversee the implementation, monitoring, maintenance and improvement of large‑scale systems that meet business needs.
- Use various script languages and tools for storing and producing highly complex sets of data.
- Oversee the development of algorithms, prototypes and proofs of concept within highly complex projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems based on trends and behaviours, anticipate underlying impacts of changes and enhance data management services.
- Draft data engineering best practices and procedures, ensuring parameters are applied properly; produce documentation and deliver training.
