Position Title : Payroll & Benefits Specialist (15-Month Contract)

Location : Vancouver, BC

Salary : $70,000 / year

About the Role : Our client, a leader in the design and architecture industry, is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist for a 15-month maternity leave contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a payroll professional with strong benefits administration experience to work with a team that is dedicated to creating positive and impactful employee experiences.

Position Overview : As the Payroll & Benefits Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of payroll for over 250 employees across multiple provinces.

You will also oversee benefits administration and provide support to employees with benefits inquiries, enrollments, and offboarding.

Key Responsibilities :

Payroll :

  • Manage full-cycle bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Reconcile vacation, banked time, and sick leave.
  • Handle personnel changes, including new hires, terminations, and benefits adjustments.
  • Issue Records of Employment (ROEs) and process statutory remittances.
  • Perform year-end payroll processes, including T4s and PIER reports.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal payroll legislation.

Benefits & Compensation :

  • Administer group life insurance, health, dental, short and long-term disability, and AD&D programs.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, enrollments, and changes.
  • Facilitate onboarding for new hires and offboarding for departing employees.
  • Conduct benefits audits and provide regular competitive analysis.
  • Assist in the development and execution of compensation strategies.

What You Bring :

  • 5+ years of payroll experience, with a background in accounting being an asset.
  • PCP certification preferred.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and benefits administration.
  • Strong knowledge of provincial and federal employment laws.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information.
