Job Responsibilities
As a Contracting Electrician, you will :
- Perform various electrical services, including but not limited to :
Installation of under-cabinet and recessed lighting
Ceiling fan and light fixture installationElectrical upgrades such as backup generators, surge protectors, and new electrical panelsRepair and installation of switches, outlets, and dimmersInstallation of smoke detectors, motion detectors, and carbon monoxide detectorsAdding additional outlets or upgrading to three-prong outletsTroubleshooting and repairing electrical issues like flickering lights, sparking appliances, or tripped breakersUpdating old wiring in residential and commercial buildingsInstallation and maintenance of outdoor and landscape lightingHardwiring appliances such as ovens, dryers, and cooktopsInstallation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stationsData and communication wiring for internet, telephone, and security systemsInstalling or upgrading electrical panels and subpanelsRepairing or replacing faulty breakers and fusesInstalling timers and smart home electrical systemsPerforming whole-home surge protection upgradesInstalling or replacing GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor areasDiagnose and resolve both emergent and non-emergent electrical issues promptly and professionally.Maintain clear and open communication with customers to explain project details and updates.Collaborate with the Handyman Connection team to ensure seamless project completion and exceptional customer service.Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have :
A valid Electrical Contractor License from the Electrical Contractor Registration Agency (ECRA) .Compliance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and local electrical regulations.A minimum of 3 years of residential and commercial electrical experience.Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and technical skills.Excellent customer service and communication abilities.Your own tools and reliable transportation.Valid WSIB coverage or equivalent insurance.The ability to provide a clear criminal background check.Why Join Us?
