Job description

Summary

Slegg Building Materials is seeking a Temporary Full-Time Forklift Operator to join our team. The shifts are Monday-Friday 8am-4 : 30pm. The pay range is $20 - $23 per hour based on experience.

The Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections of forklift and complete required forms
  • Ensure forklift maintenance and servicing requirements are met
  • Build orders to required specifications for delivery
  • Load and unload building materials in a safe and efficient manner
  • Check load contents for accuracy and secure materials
  • Ensure that all products are shipped on schedule and according to specific instructions by management to meet customer demands
  • Maintain contact with supervisor(s) and work to resolve issues as they arise
  • Other duties as assigned by management

The Requirements

  • Valid forklift certification (propane)
  • Forklift experience is essential
  • Effective communication skills and ability to read and speak English
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics
  • Basic hand tool skills
  • Physical requirements include :

    • o Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs

    o Sitting and driving for longs periods of time

    o Frequently climbing up and down stairs

    o Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight

  • A positive can do attitude is essential!
