Job Purpose

The Quality Assurance Analyst plays a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards of software quality that our customers rely on. Within our Technology Team, you'll adhere to established best practices as you conduct thorough evaluations, ensuring quality standards are met for application development and align with the stringent corporate protocols we uphold. This position offers a rewarding path to enhance your abilities, delve into detailed analytical work, and contribute significantly to the smooth operation of our systems, ensuring the data remains secure and our services are dependable.

Accountabilities

  • Identify test requirements based on specifications and coordinate testing activities with development and product teams. Design and execute test cases, scenarios, scripts, or procedures to ensure thorough coverage, maintaining requirement - scenario traceability.
  • Record and detail all bugs and errors found in testing and monitor their status during the resolution process. Collaborate with development teams to prioritize fixes and manage issues using defect-tracking tools and regular triage meetings. Communicate actionable insights to stakeholders to aid in defect resolution.
  • Analyze new software releases to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate those issues. Assess the impact of software updates or patches. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to risk management procedures.
  • Maintain precise test strategies and results records while reviewing technical documents for thoroughness. Guarantee that documentation adheres to company and regulatory standards and obtain necessary approvals from stakeholders.
  • Produce and maintain Regression test suite(s) for supported applications. Provide support for ongoing maintenance releases and support rapid resolution of Production issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with on- and offshore QA teammates to complete test phases in accordance with set delivery timelines. Provide timely status updates to project leads and management.
  • Act as Lead QA for teams of 2-5 QA Analysts on- and offshore as need arises, producing test strategies, estimates, and timelines with support from Senior QA Analysts and / or QA Management. Drive completion of QA deliverables in accordance with set timelines.
  • Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) is an asset.
  • 3+ years in Canadian banking experience
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Knowledge of and experience in SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), testing concepts, methodologies and metrics as an asset.
