Technical Business Analyst
Position : Technical Business Analyst
Location : Montreal, QC (3 days a week onsite)
Duration : 12 Months +
Role & Responsibilities
Partner with Technical teams to understand and elaborate requirements and, if needed, liaise with Line of Business and Operations partners to bring in more clarity.
Document Functional Requirements with supporting use cases, current vs future state flow diagrams, and sequence diagrams.
Participate in technical design discussions to ensure the design meets specifications.
Hands-on BA, Able To
- Understand domain, data lineage, data model, front-to-back functions & business processes.
- Extract business rules from source code and already available analyzed documents.
- Clearly articulate the findings in requirements and design documents to steer design discussions.
- Assess Current Architecture and conduct a comprehensive assessment of the existing legacy architecture to understand its components, dependencies, and limitations, subsequently translating to modern architectural patterns and best practices.
Identify opportunities for componentization, modularization, and decoupling to improve flexibility, maintainability, and scalability.
- Provide updates to key stakeholders in the form of PPT slides on progress, delays, or risks.
- Be highly motivated, willing to learn, and flexible with work timings to collaborate closely with global teams, primarily in North America.
Requirements & Primary Skills
- Prior experience in 2+ application modernization projects, with each project lasting a minimum of one year.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong collaborative working relationships with business partners and department leads.
- Experience in collaborative platform systems for requirements, program, and task management through standard tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, GitHub.
- Strong understanding of multi-tier & distributed architecture.
Nice To Have
- Experience in industries related to "Settlement Services" including expertise in trade settlement, clearance, reconciliation.
- Experience in working with Adabas & Natural systems.
- Basic project management skills to coordinate activities, discovery meetings, track progress, and prioritize scope of deliverables.
- Understanding of modern technologies and familiarity with modern technologies and frameworks used in application development, such as cloud computing platforms (e.
g., Azure), microservices architecture, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
