General Description
A janitor is generally responsible for cleaning all hard floor surfaces and carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and the collection and removal of garbage from drop points to garbage bins. Other responsibilities may be included.
Schedule
Full Time, Monday to Friday 3 : 00 pm - 11 : 00 pm
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs, and other surfaces inside buildings.
- Strip and wax, steam‑clean carpets, and clean windows on request.
- Wash windowsills, glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
- Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior / exterior; wash / spot‑clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
- Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Standard procedures : damp‑wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweep / mop / scrub floors.
- Assist the supervisor with any tasks that require help from the employee.
- Monitor possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report to supervisors.
- Collect building trash daily, placing it in approved containers and in the designated collection area for removal.
- Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specifications.
- Perform high dusting and wall washing.
- Operate compactors, lift up to 50 lbs, and use heavy‑duty machines and changing garbage.
Requirements
Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.Must have own transportation.Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.Must be able to pass a Federal Background Check.Additional Information
