What will your rolebe?
The Power Electronics PCBDesigner will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of hardware designersworking on the design, implementation, and validation of Power electronicsPrinted Circuit Board (PCB) used in satellites and other space-based systems.This may include applications such as motor drive units, DC power systems,Digital-Analog Telemetry, and associated control circuits for spaceapplications using new space technologies.
In this project, your main responsibilities will be :
Apply the different aspects of power electronic circuit design for the space environment under the supervision of a senior technical authority
Convert requirements into a board designconcept
Complete the schematic capture leveldesign
Manage design layout constraintsdefinitions
Perform design simulations (LTSpice,BoardSim) and various design analyses (ex : worst case, FMECA)
Support and review parts placement andPCB layout
Prepare Material list and assemblydrawings
Oversee parts managements including longlead items, bill of materials, and parts qualifications for space
Assist the preparation of detailed reviewdocuments
Respect Design for Manufacture / Test inthe space environment
Interact with various specialties(structure, thermal, packaging, manufacturing, quality assurance, etc.)
Provide manufacturing activity supportfor the electronics PCB and unit assembly as well as testing activities
Perform testing, troubleshooting, anddebugging of EPC boards and units
Support environmental and functionaltests
What qualifications are we looking for?
Mandatory requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineeringor equivalent
Three (3) to ten (10) years of experiencedesigning high-frequency, high-efficiency “Full Bridge” power supply andprinted circuit boards (PCB)
Good understanding of electronic circuitsand Ultra-high efficiency EPC design using synchronous rectifier MOStransistors (eGaN preferred) with PCB design experience
High frequency power supply above 200 kHz(up to 1 MHz desired)
Use of MOS transistors insensitive toradiation (preferably eGaN)
Design of low-cost, discrete,high-performance isolated gate driver circuits for MOS transistors
Knowledgeable about PCB manufacturingprocesses
Experience in conducting analyses (FMECA,WCA, EMC, power budget analysis, etc.)
Knowledgeable about part types and atease with datasheets
Knowledge of space radiation effects onparts is an asset
Lab experience with electronic circuitsand laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscope, network analyzer, spectrumanalyzer, arbitrary waveform generator
Proficient experience in schematic entry(ex : Mentor Xpedition, PADS, OrCAD)
Knowledge of satellite designrequirements (radiation, high reliability)
Pro-active, enthusiastic, and result-oriented team player
Good verbal and written communicationskills
Fluent in English and French is an asset
