Industrial Millwright
Position : Industrial Millwright ($45.64 / hr) at Gerdau North America.
What The Position Entails
- Inspect, install, repair, replace, and adjust mechanical equipment in the plant.
- Service the mechanical aspects of pumps, motors, cranes, and hydraulic / pneumatic systems.
- Receive instructions, prints, and work orders for scheduled and emergency repairs, installation, and inspection work.
- Find effective repair methods to minimize production interruption.
- Advise when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporary operation poses no harmful effect.
- Maintain specified records of work performed, repair details, and material usage in CMMS, work orders, logbooks, and checklists.
- Perform round checks of machinery condition using checklists or digital tools to identify abnormalities and ensure machine functions operate within normal specifications.
- Perform assigned maintenance work on large and small producing units.
- Operate power‑driven mobile equipment and ordinary crane hooking.
Education / Experience
Certificate of Qualification (Industrial Mechanic / Millwright – 433A) as recognized by Skilled Trades Ontario.Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with exposure to bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics, lubrication, and rotating equipment.Strong communication and work ethic; ability to work in a team and with other trades.Basic computer experience.What Gerdau Offers You
