Brief Description :
The Business Development Relief Representative is responsible for representing Ulterra ethically and professionally at the field level while driving revenue growth and increasing market share. This role serves as a primary point of contact between Ulterra and its customers, with a strong emphasis on relationship-building, exceptional customer service, and operational excellence. Business Development Relief Representative gathers and communicates critical field performance data, identifies customer needs and opportunities, and collaborates closely with internal sales, applications, and engineering teams to support business objectives.
Detailed Description :
Communicate with drilling rigs in the assigned area with consistency, professionalism, and urgency.
Build, maintain, and grow strong customer relationships, with customer service as a top priority.
Represent Ulterra in a professional and ethical manner at all times in the field.
Account for 100% of inventory through all implemented documentation, tracking, and control procedures.
Demonstrate an advanced understanding of drilling bit records and how they impact downstream processes.
Gather accurate drilling bit record data at the field level to support Sales and Applications Engineering efforts
Maintain advanced knowledge of assigned market conditions, including customer relationships, rig count, total market value ($), market share ($ and %), drilling conditions, drilling variables, performance data, and future activity.
Work closely with the Applications Engineering team to ensure sufficient and accurate field data is collected to support product development and testing initiatives.
Ensure all test products are deployed at correct locations and required data is captured in accordance with established procedures.
Complete and submit all required reports (daily reports, expense reports, vehicle inspection reports, revenue flashes, and other requested reports) accurately and by established deadlines.
Maintain open and consistent daily communication with Sales teams, Applications Engineers, Account Representatives, and the District Manager.
Always follow all safety protocols and promote a strong safety culture in all field activities.
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning company vehicle; employees are responsible for timely routine maintenance.
Dress in a professional manner as directed by management, including adherence to facial hair requirements and restrictions.
Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.
Job Requirements :

Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
Intermediate computer proficiency with the ability to advance.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced field environment.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment.
Ability to take and follow instruction, as well as provide direction when appropriate.
Experience using navigation and mapping programs.
Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle and work in varying field conditions.
Ability to work remotely throughout British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan on various shifts.
Minimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma
3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in field sales, the drilling industry, or another Oil & Gas-related role.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record in accordance with company vehicle policies.
Additional Details :
The Business Development Relief Representative must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. The typical work environment will be in the shop or field which will require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, working near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles.
