Recruiting Research Assistant for Disseminating Knowledge of Real-World Projects using Powerpoint
We are looking for a Research Assistant to assist Professor of Marketing, Dr. V Kumar. This research will contribute to a better understanding of the functioning of the business models worldwide. The Research Assistant is needed to conduct secondary research, read articles and abstract relevant information, and translate the content into a visually appealing PPT presentation. Additional responsibilities may arise over the course of the semester depending on what occurs in the research project. Previous research experiences are appreciated but not necessary if there is willingness to work hard, exhibit timeliness in deliverables and knowledgeable with MS office software (WORD, EXCEL, PPT, etc.), Adobe, and creating PPTs.

COMPENSATION
Research Assistant Rate Schedule is determined by assessing the minimum level of education required to perform the work and cannot exceed the incumbent’s actual education level but may be less than the incumbent’s actual education level. This position requires the possession of a Bachelor’s degree (4th year complete) in business, computer science or related fields
Hourly Rate : Research Assistant- Fourth Year Complete Rate $
Approx. 15 hours / week
Standard vacation pay (4%) will be added to the above rate with each pay plus additional government mandatory benefits costs (CPP, EI, Health Tax, WSIB)(approx. 10% on top of the rate of pay).
DUTIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Research Assistant shall be in accordance with Article of the Collective Agreement.
Creating presentations that are visually appealing
Systematizing, categorizing, and filing archival documents to make them efficiently retrievable and duplicable
Monitoring data quality and safety
Nominal hours will be a minimum of 15 hours per week
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate fulfills the following requirements
Is a graduate student at Brock University or another university in Ontario
Preferably studies one of the following programs : [Business or related field]
Has great MS Office software skills
Is reliable and dependable
Has a great desire to learn and develop new research skills
Has good organizational and time-management skills
Is able to work independently as well as part of a team
Is proficient in English language and time management skills
The Research Assistance will result in :
Practical experiences in communicating to the business world

As per Article of the Collective Agreement :
Graduate Students enrolled at Brock University shall not accept an appointment in excess of an average of ten (10) hours per week over an academic term, in which she is enrolled as a full-time student, without the prior permission of the Dean of Graduate Studies;
Undergraduate Students enrolled at Brock University shall not accept more than nine (9) Teaching Assistant appointments, or the equivalent of nine (9) Teaching Assistant appointments in any classification, per term minus the number of courses in which that student is currently enrolled;
Part-time Graduate Students and Non-Students shall not accept any appointment which, taken together with all other appointments at the University, would cause the member to exceed the maximum number of regular hours ( not overtime hours) allowable in a work week under the Employment Standards Act, as amended from time to time.
Permission to exceed the above-mentioned workload limits should be obtained prior to application.
