Job description

Role : Child Care Coordinator - Chetwynd

Wage : $55,080.00 - $57,305.00 Annual Salary, plus Government Wage Enhancement (currently $6.00 / hour for fully certified Early Childhood Educators)

Benefits : YMCA membership, paid sick days for yourself and family, 8% vacation pay (includes scheduled operational closures), paid training, full benefits package, 5% employer-matched pension, education and career advancement opportunities,

Hours : Full-Time, Monday to Friday. 8 : 00 am - 5 : 00pm with flexibility to change to meet the needs of the programs. Occasional evenings and weekends for training or events.

Location : YMCA Chetwynd Care & Learning Centre & School Age Program

The YMCA BC is the largest not-for-profit provider of child care in Canada and the YMCA BC is the largest provider in the north, serving : Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Fort St. James, Fort St. John, Hudson’s Hope, Prince George, Pouce Coupe, Tumbler Ridge and Vanderhoof. Responsibilities of this role :

  • Building relationships and providing exceptional customer service in a timely fashion
  • Ensures that all programs are operating in compliance with the Child Care Licensing Regulations and YMCA BC Child Protection Policies
  • Work with their team to deliver high quality and age-appropriate programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum
  • Maintain confidentiality of information related to the centre, children, families, and staff
  • Developing and distributing required documentation to necessary parties
  • Engages and builds a team dedicated to excellence

Qualifications :

  • Current BC ECE IT License to Practice, or ECE who is willing to obtain their ECE IT (must be willing to use grants through ECEBC or pay their own schooling)
  • 3 years’ leadership experience in child care and child development
  • 4 years’ experience in child care and child development preferred
  • Experience leading an effective, engaged team will be considered an asset
  • Current child care First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record and Clear Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Three satisfactory professional references
