HireArt is helping our client find a skilled and reliable Facilities Technician to join its maintenance team.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of building systems and facilities.
As a Facilities Technician, you'll :
- Perform general repair and troubleshooting across multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance on building systems, fixtures, and equipment.
- Operate various tools and equipment, including ladders, power tools, and diagnostic instruments, in a safe and effective manner.
- Interpret and work from basic blueprints and building schematics.
- Install, maintain, and repair locks and door hardware to ensure building security.
- Perform light electrical tasks, such as replacing outlets, switches, ballasts, and light fixtures.
- Address basic plumbing issues, including unclogging drains, repairing leaks, and replacing fixtures.
- Travel between multiple sites, if required.
Requirements
Basic computer literacy for entering maintenance logs and navigating work order systemsSolid understanding of workplace safety protocols and compliance with OSHA regulationsStrong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to diagnose and resolve issues efficientlyExcellent attention to detail to ensure high-quality work and safety complianceEffective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environmentStrong communication skillsDependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervisionWillingness and ability to travel between multiple job sites, if requiredValid driver’s license (required if travel between sites is required)Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift and move heavy objects, tools, and equipment as neededComfortable working at heights (on ladders) and in confined or awkward spacesCapable of standing, walking, bending, and performing manual labor for extended periodsCommitment : This is a part-time, 6-month contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be onsite and available to candidates local to the Austin, TX area.
