Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel is seeking a Part-time Cafeteria Attendant. The ideal candidate is an energetic professional with proven knowledge, skills and abilities, supporting the company’s vision, mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills displayed at all times.
- Prepare items pertaining to cafeteria and quick serve menus.
- Pick up items from the kitchen upon notification of their readiness.
- Solid understanding of the P.O.S. system, including Shift Changing Procedures, opening and closing procedures, and cash settlement.
- Complete and maintain daily and weekly cleaning lists.
- Organize and store supplies such as dishes, condiments and cleaning supplies; maintain consistent stocking for efficient accessibility during shift changes.
- Notify the kitchen in a timely manner by radio and / or phone of any cooked products needed and plan accordingly to ensure ample stock levels during breaks.
- Maintain levels of products required in designated storage areas for the cooks to ensure efficient preparation of cafeteria and quick serve items.
- Maintain cleanliness of all counters, tables in the break room, and food preparation areas.
- Assist with duties for the cooks and stewards as required.
- Perform other duties as required by the Sous Chef.
Qualifications
Minimum of 1-2 years of kitchen or service experience, including P.O.S. operations.Show initiative and understanding of other roles and responsibilities in the kitchen.WHMIS Certified.Good knife handling skills.Ability to follow instructions in a friendly and professional manner.Be thoroughly familiar with the causes of food poisoning and methods of prevention.Ability to analyze current inventory and develop daily prep lists to control food waste and spoilage.Ability to prioritize and possess excellent time management and organizational skills.Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees and management.Excellent customer service skills to maintain good rapport with customers and employees.Ability to work with little or no supervision, independently, and under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.Schedule
Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts. Hours of work will be based on operational needs.
