Our client is sourcing a BI Developer for a 2-month contract.
About the Opportunity
Assess and enhance existing BI systems to ensure they meet business needs
Provide technical guidance on data architecture, data quality, and the implementation of data analysis solutions
Respond to ad-hoc requests for data insights and reports to address daily operational challenges and opportunities
Aggregate data from multiple sources and transform it into actionable datasets for research and analysis purposes
Perform unit testing and troubleshooting to ensure system functionality
Monitor and address data quality issues and report findings as necessary
Participate in discussions and requirement-gathering sessions with business users and subject matter experts to define project needs
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for BI solutions, from initial project planning to post-delivery
Lead various stages of the BI project lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, system testing, deployment, and user training
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior Power BI developers
Build and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders and team members
Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in database and BI technologies and methodologies
About You
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
Advanced expertise in Power BI and DAX with 2-3 years of hands-on experience
Strong background in T-SQL query development with proven experience (2-3 years)
Familiarity with relational database and data warehouse design concepts, including dimensional modeling and data mining
Solid understanding of database management systems, OLAP (Online Analytical Processing), and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
Minimum of 2 years of experience with Microsoft BI stack tools (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, Azure DB, Excel, Power Pivot)
High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, demonstrating professionalism and clarity
Ability to take initiative, think innovatively, and solve problems effectively
Detail-oriented with a focus on meeting deadlines and continuous improvement
Experience with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) is a plus
Proficiency in R and / or Python programming is a bonus
Working knowledge of data governance principles is desirable
