Rogers Communications is seeking an IT Solution Delivery Manager to lead the planning and delivery of projects supporting the Rogers Business business unit.
Reporting to a Sr. Mgr, Solution Delivery within Business IT, you will be accountable for leading the effective delivery of the right solutions for important Business needs.
What you will do :
Collaborate with Rogers Business teams including Business Systems, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service Operations and Planning.
To manage scope within budgetary and timeline constraints and develop appropriate IT solutions and realistic delivery plans.
Have trade-off and art of the possible discussions when appropriate.
- In collaboration with IT Demand Management, engage various teams within IT to assemble the right project team for successful delivery, including Architecture, Infrastructure, Information Security, PMO, Application Development (mix of waterfall and agile teams), Testing and Operations.
- Represent business stakeholders in IT discussions and represent IT in business discussions.
- Contribute to the solution design process (JAD sessions, solution reviews).
- Play the Project Manager and / or Business Analyst role depending on available resources.
- Coordinate team efforts to resolve issues and conflicts and escalate to senior management when appropriate.
- Understand business and IT roadmaps and guide projects accordingly.
- Promote quality, innovation, good customer experience, teamwork, and open & timely communication of issues / opportunities.
- Build trusted relationships with business partners and team members throughout the organization.
What you have :
- Previous experience in a corporate IT environment, preferably within the telecommunications industry and ideally in a business-to-business context.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written, including the ability to both frame technology issues in business terms and explain business concepts to technical audiences to all levels within the organization.
- Leadership & collaboration skills including teamwork, organization, adaptability, ability to influence without having direct authority, negotiation, conflict resolution.
- The ability & drive to learn & understand Rogers Business products & operations and the underlying business needs that drive IT requirements.
- A consultant mindset, rather than an order-taker mindset.
- Demonstrated experience in project planning, cost estimation and spend forecasting.
- Demonstrated experience with Software Development Lifecycle methodologies including Waterfall, Agile.
- The ability to write IT requirements and evaluate requirements for quality and completeness.
- Analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Experience selecting & managing vendors participation in RFPs, drafting and reviewing SOWs.
- A general understanding of Rogers business and IT practices is an asset.
- Experience in software delivery, project management, business analysis; or a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field.
- Previous experience as a project manager, delivery manager or business analyst. PMP, CBAP and / or Agile certifications are assets.
