We currently have an opening for a Production Planner to join our team based out of our Langley location.

Reporting to the VP of Business Development, you will be responsible for the day-to-day production scheduling of Donald’s Fine Foods across three manufacturing plants. The incumbent will ensure smooth operations throughout the production and distribution life of our product by creating accurate production planning to meet the sales forecast, ensuring inventory information and levels are accurate and at the optimum rates while working closely with production management to continually improve efficiency by analyzing data to determine future needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Work in close communication with domestic and export sales departments to build accurate sales forecasts.
2. Ensure daily entries into the production control system are accurate.
3. Collaborate with Plant Managers to establish reasonable inventory levels in order to meet customer demands.
4. Monitor finished goods inventory daily and keep sales departments informed of changes.
5. Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, raw materials, tools, and labor requirements.
6. Generate daily production quantity in production control.
7. Communicate with Plant Managers for special production requests.
8. Set up lead time for special order production.
9. Create a standard production planning process.
10. Generate accurate and timely production reports for management including the executive team.
11. Generate purchase orders or sales orders when required.

Requirements

1. Passion to learn, inspire, and lead.
2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal.
3. Bachelor of Business or equivalent.
4. Superb organizational skills with the ability to multitask and a keen eye for detail.
5. Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) is an asset.
6. Minimum 3 years experience in a production planning role within a manufacturing environment.
7. Computer skills using Microsoft Office, especially Excel VLookup and Macro.
8. Will be expected to travel as needed to company subsidiaries, as well as to business partners to conduct due diligence.
9. Ability to add value as an individual contributor and an active team member.
10. Ability to build rapport quickly with key members of the executive team.
11. Demonstrated ability to react to situations with a strong sense of urgency.
