Job Summary
The Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing programs that ensure a safe and healthy work environment for staff while promoting the highest standards of patient safety. This dual-role position integrates occupational health practices with clinical risk management to support regulatory compliance, reduce workplace injury, enhance patient outcomes, and cultivate a culture of safety.
Specific accountabilities include:
1) Occupational Health Case Coordinator for Employees
2) Attendance Management
3) Health and Safety (including support for Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee)
4) Coverage for Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator
Requirements:
Certifications and Registrations
·Must be a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing
·Possess or be willing to obtain an Occupational Health Nursing Certification
·Willing to obtain ongoing education to develop required expertise in occupational health
Experience
·At least two years clinical experience in a hospital setting
·Must have excellent communication skills in English, bilingualism preferred
