• Permanent, 44 hours / week
• Occasional shift work / travel / weekends / OT
• $36+ per hour, commensurate with experience We’re Bowman Electric () . Our shop is the only full service electrical company in the Kenora area, and we’ve succeeded by providing consistent value and great service to our customers over the years. Many of the cottages, houses, and businesses in town have had work done by Bowman, and many great electricians have come out of our renowned apprenticeship program. As our new Journeyman / Foreman Electrician, you’ll plan, execute, and troubleshoot on various electrical projects in and around Kenora. Working with a team of other electricians, you’ll work on a wide array of projects : some as long as 6 months, some just an hour service call, and some just an afternoon. Your tasks will include :
• Drafting / finalizing work schedules
• Coordinating materials
• Maintaining budgets
• Supervising / installing electrical components
• Training junior / apprentice electrical staff
• Inspecting electric work and ensuring it is compliant with code
• Monitoring hazards and ensuring safe working conditions A big part of succeeding in this role requires strong communication and planning skills. Whether you’re dealing with junior staff, architect, sub-trades or home owners, you’ll need to excel at solving conflicts and meeting deadlines. • Mechanically inclined
• Strong problem solving skills
• 3+ years experience in a similar role
• Experience on residential and commercial sites
• Experience coordinating schedules, progress and materials
• WHMIS / Working at heights / safety certifications
• Strong computer skills, and familiarity with / ability to learn industry standard software
• Experience training / working with apprentices would be an asset
• Driver’s license and clean driving record
