Reporting to the Design Manager, Protective Equipment category, the candidate will have to create and design new hockey products.
He will be working working closely with Product Managers, Developers, and with other CCM designers.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Determine and follow Design briefs for each new product and follow through on the project objectives;
- Research, design and prototype innovative new products;
- Find innovative solutions to technical problems;
- Prepare Tech-packages and be in charge of communicating and exchanging with manufacturers; Interact with Technical Support and Industrialization resources in order to facilitate the manufacturing process;
- Interact with the Quality Control department to determine quality criteria of the new products;
- Interact with the Field Testing department to assess prototypes and designs, as well as new components, raw materials and technologies;
- Participate in the analysis of competitive products;
- Share responsibility with the developer for the development of products, from product design to the manufacturing process;
- Responsible for providing solutions for ergonomic constraints of products.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- University Degree in Industrial Design combined to 5 years of experience in the design, development and manufacturing of consumers good;
- Experience in sporting goods design is an asset;
- In-depth knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop;
- 3D software knowledge is an asset;
- Ability to prepare and interpret hand sketches, graphic designs and 2D & 3D technical drawings;
- Ability to build handmade mockups and prototypes;
- Good knowledge of sports bio-mechanics in general and hockey in particular is an asset;
- Ability to strive and deliver under tight timelines and pressure situations;
- Strong team player;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Ability to work independently, to resolve problems and take initiative, adaptability and flexibility;
- Candidate must be flexible and available to travel;
- Bilingual (French & English).
