Job description

The Role : As a Physical Therapist in the Acute Care setting, you will provide comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions for patients with acute injuries, illnesses, or mobility impairments. Your focus will be on optimizing functional recovery, managing pain, and facilitating safe discharge or transfer plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities :

Conduct detailed physical therapy assessments for patients admitted with acute medical, surgical, or traumatic conditions.

Develop and implement individualized therapeutic plans to address mobility, pain, and functional deficits.

Educate patients and caregivers on strategies for recovery, including rehabilitation exercises, mobility aids, and injury prevention.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to develop interdisciplinary care plans.

Participate in discharge planning by evaluating patients' readiness for transition and recommending appropriate follow-up care or resources.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and outcomes in compliance with acute care protocols.

Requirements :

Licensed Physical Therapist with current registration in your province or territory.

Experience in acute care, inpatient, or hospital settings is preferred.

Proficient in acute injury management, mobilization techniques, and post-operative care.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to complex patient needs in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration within the multidisciplinary team.
