The Opportunity
We are seeking for a Payroll Team Lead to join our team. As a key member of a results-driven, high performance team you are responsible for the coordination of the semi-monthly payroll process and provides daily support and guidance to Pay Analysts and Senior Pay Analysts to ensure the accurate and timely processing of pay.
You coordinate the resolution of pay enquiries, provide training, ensure procedures are documented and maintained, identify business process requirements for new initiatives and provide subject matter expertise to internal and external clients.
As the Payroll Team Lead, you also provide vacation coverage for the Payroll Assistant Manager and Pension and Benefits Advisor.
The Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as :
- Coordinating case management activities of all occupational and non occupational injuries and illnesses to support safe, timely, and sustainable returns to work
- Providing daily guidance and support to Pay Analysts and Senior Pay Analysts
- Coordinating the resolution of payroll enquires from employees
- Providing subject matter expertise on payroll processes, policies and procedures to internal and external clients
- Ensuring staff have appropriate training and that procedures are documented and maintained
- Participating in the development and implementation of projects and programs to assist in the accomplishment of corporate objectives
- Reviewing existing business processes and makes recommendations with a view to streamlining processes and maximizing productivity
- Identifying future business process requirements for new initiatives and develops strategies to meet those requirements
What you bring to the team
You have completed the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation under the National Payroll Institute. As well as a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or other related discipline.
You bring 4 to 6 years payroll experience in a complex computerized business environment, and 1 to 3 years of experience training and supervising payroll staff including experience dealing with complex collective agreements.

Additional information
The target salary range is $75,100 - $93,800 per annum. The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience, and internal equity.
Starting salary may exceed the target range on exceptional basis.
