ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize is hiring Formwork Carpenters for our Vancouver Infrastructure operations. This opportunity is in Burnaby, where we are constructing a new maintenance operations structure for our partners. We are open to Apprentice and Journeyman applicants!

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Heavy Civil - Industrial, Infrastructure, and Roadwork Construction.
  • Forming, Stripping, Placing of Amrize Ready-Mix Concrete.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble in accordance to the specifications provided.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints needed for concrete forms.
  • Assist other carpenters with the assembly of framework.
  • Prepare layouts of forms from drawings that are provided.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Required Work Experience

Experience preferably with formwork and on commercial or industrial projects.

Required Training / Certifications

Journeyman to Red Seal certification is considered an asset but not required.

Travel Requirements

Must have ability to travel to multiple worksite locations.

Additional Requirements

  • Bridge building experience would be considered an asset
  • Experience in concrete finishing, sacking and pouring is considered an asset.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Willing to work overtime and Saturday shifts if needed.
  • Team Player and safety orientated.
  • Communicates well with others and to their superiors.
  • CSTS-09 and other safety certificates are considered asset.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
  • WAGE

  • Carpenters and Helpers (Infrastructure Support Technicians) $28-$38 / hourly.
  • Apprentice and Skilled Journeypersons ( Unticketed ) $35-$41 / hourly.
  • Journeyperson / Red Seal ( Ticketed ) $38-$44 / hourly.
