Payroll Administrator
IKO North America (IKO Industries Ltd.) is a leading manufacturer of roofing building materials. We seek an experienced Payroll Administrator to manage accurate and timely payroll across multiple provinces and companies within our organization.
Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Payroll Administrator to manage the accurate and timely processing of payroll across multiple companies and provinces. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Workday and a solid understanding of Canadian payroll regulations, including the nuances of multi-provincial payroll.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly/bi‑weekly/semi‑monthly payroll for employees across multiple companies and provinces, including unionized environments.
- Manage and ensure compliance with provincial payroll laws, taxes, benefits, and deductions.
- Utilize Workday for payroll processing, ensuring accurate input of employee data, timekeeping, and compensation adjustments.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records in Workday.
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies, including tax filings and benefits‑related issues.
- Ensure timely remittance of statutory deductions to the appropriate authorities.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and year‑end payroll reports.
- Respond to payroll‑related inquiries from employees and management.
- Assist with the preparation and auditing of year‑end reports and T4/T4A slips.
- Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and best practices across all provinces.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in payroll administration with multi‑provincial payroll experience.
- Strong proficiency in Workday payroll system.
- In‑depth knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and tax laws across multiple provinces.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other payroll‑related software.
- Certification in Payroll (e.g., PCP, CPM) is preferred.
