This position provides hands‑on exposure to a wide range of Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) equipment and platforms while applying strong engineering fundamentals and reliability principles. The role will support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of process control systems at the KFC Brandon facility, including day‑to‑day I&C responsibilities and involvement in capital projects. The role offers opportunities for professional development through engineering, leadership, and management training. The successful candidate will work as part of a high‑performing team and take the lead in developing technical skills, industry knowledge, and practical experience.

What You Will Do
- Lead and support the site’s instrument integrity and reliability program.
- Develop and maintain instrument PM tasks, frequencies, and supporting documentation.
- Create and update procedures, checklists, and acceptance forms for instrument and control loop performance.
- Lead / support development and optimization of AMS Device Manager for smart instruments and predictive maintenance.
- Provide process controls support to successfully execute plant process automation initiatives.
- Perform root cause failure analysis on instrumentation and control valves.
- Evaluate and recommend effective, economical, and reliable technologies to meet business needs.
- Drive asset reliability improvements across the site.
- Participate in KAES / Koch Communities of Practice and apply learnings at the Brandon site.
- Provide I&C expertise for projects and reliability initiatives, including digital transformation efforts.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and internal quality systems.
- Support operations and maintenance teams with troubleshooting and complex repair guidance.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering to identify fit‑for‑purpose solutions.
- Provide input for planning and scheduling plant outages and turnarounds.
- Identify and implement control system and advanced control improvement opportunities aligned with business goals.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Red Seal Instrumentation mechanic certification or equivalent.Experience in the field of Instrument and Controls, Engineering, Maintenance, or Reliability in the Chemical industry.Experience with computer aided tools and software to support responsibilities.Working knowledge of DeltaV DCS / SIS, PLCs from Schneider and Siemens S7-400, CCC controllers, protection system such as Woodward peak 150 / 200, or Woodward protech 203 / GII and CSI racks for high-speed rotating equipmentAbility in Instrument and control valve sizing.Experience with P&ID’s, control narratives, Cause & Effect diagrams, instrument and valve data sheetsWhat Will Put You Ahead
