Corporate Controller

We are looking for an experienced Corporate Controller to join our team in British Columbia. In this remote mid-term contract position, you will play a critical role in overseeing financial operations, reporting, and compliance while driving process improvements and supporting organizational goals. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced and detail-oriented individual with a strong accounting background and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise accounting activities across all entities to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines.

• Prepare consolidated financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, while conducting in-depth financial analyses.

• Manage the month-end close process and produce detailed financial reporting packages for external stakeholders such as banks and partners.

• Lead the development and monitoring of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, ensuring accurate variance analysis.

• Provide support and guidance to Division Accountants and team members during periods of absence.

• Oversee general accounting functions, including tax compliance, joint venture accounting, intercompany reconciliations, and treasury operations.

• Ensure compliance with indirect tax filings, government reporting, and regulatory requirements, coordinating with external advisors as needed.

• Collaborate with external auditors on interim and annual assurance engagements.

• Facilitate cash management activities, including forecasting and administration of credit agreements.

• Act as the finance lead in implementing shared services models and supporting the onboarding and development of skilled accounting staff.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.

• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, tax compliance, and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in using accounting software systems and tools.

• Demonstrated ability to lead budgeting processes and perform detailed variance analysis.

• Strong analytical skills to handle ad hoc financial tasks and complex data sets.

• Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage teams and collaborate across departments.

• Experience with regulatory reporting and coordination with external auditors.

• Ability to oversee project accounting and ensure accurate job costing.
