About the role :
Reporting to the Global Leader – Continuous Improvement, the Machine Development Engineer Co-op will play a crucial role in our continuous improvement works, collaborating with experienced professionals to gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience in plant / machine design and development processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing engineering or machine development to learn and grow within a dynamic environment.
Location :
This role is currently available on-site from our headquarters in Acton, Ontario.
Responsibilities :
- Assist in CAD design tasks, contributing to the development of machine prototypes, and plant design under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for improving machine design and functionality.
- Work with various software tools for CAD design and simulation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams through virtual platforms to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Document and report findings, observations, and test results accurately.
- Engage in meetings and training sessions provided by the company.
- Adhere to remote data privacy and security policies to ensure confidentiality and integrity of plant and machine designs and drawings.
Qualifications :
Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.Enrolled in the third (3rd) or fourth (4th) year within a degree program.Strong interest in machine development and engineering principles.Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and willingness to learn new software tools.Proficiency in MS Excel or Minitab software, and willing to learn new software tools.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.Previous experience with PLC programming would be considered an asset.Experience with automation would be considered an asset.Why join Superior Glove?
