Job description

Cybersecurity Project Manager  for provincial government agency client, Mississauga.

Marberg Job Number : 2499.

Job Type : ​Temporary​.

Start Date :  ASAP to December 2025.

Compensation : $85 per hour – $95 ​per hour​, according to experience

Regular Work Hours : 7.25 work hours per day, not including 1 hour unpaid lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours (​35​ work hours per week).

Work Location : ​Hybrid, with standard split being 3 days per week remote (within Ontario) and 2 days per week onsite at client's Mississauga office.

Responsibilities Summary :

To provide Project Management direction to large scale cybersecurity tabletop exercise.

  • Lead the planning, design, execution and closure of a large scale, digital cybersecurity exercise involving extensive internal and external stakeholder networks.
  • Develop project documentation with accurate cost, resources and time estimates.
  • Track project metrics, create project dashboards, and otherwise lead the internal communication with senior agency leadership regarding project workflow.
  • Ensure exceptional professional communication with project sponsors, senior leadership and other relevant stakeholders for approvals of significant decisions (i.e. solution design, scope changes).
  • Ensure internal project quality assurance standards are met through documented quality assurance plan.
  • Apply strong interpersonal skills to delegating project tasks to indirect reports, ensuring appropriate staff supervision and support.
  • Provide leadership and subject matter expertise within agency on matters of project management.
  • Other related duties as required.

Qualifications :

Education : Undergraduate degree in Business, IT or other related field is required.

Work Experience :  At least 8+ years experience as a project manager, preferably 4+ years in an IT, IS or Cybersecurity project management environment.

Professional Designation : PMP designation required.

Technical and Language Skills Requirements :

  • Demonstrated competency delivering projects using Waterfall, Agile and hybrid methodologies.
  • Professional experience with tabletop exercises preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Access, Visio, SharePoint and Word.
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of Project Management Institute (PMI) best practices.
  • Task -Based Qualifications and Additional Attributes :

  • A proven track record of project leadership through all phases of Project Management life cycle.
  • Strong demonstrated understanding of software development and IT operations.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across sectors, department and organizations to achieve project aims.
  • Demonstrated experience managing staff members sensitively and effectively to optimize performance.
  • Strong professional communication skills, with the ability to effectively translate high level and / or technical information to a variety of stakeholders including senior leaders inside and outside of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a team environment supporting internal and external contacts through a variety of complex situations.
  • A solutions focused approach to the workplace, with strong ability to exercise analytic skills and good judgement to situations independently.
  • Proven ability to professionally handle confidential information and exercise good judgement in the interpretation and application of instructions and organizational policy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently, collaboratively, and liaise effectively with a wide and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Additional Requirements :

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
  • Ability to work both remotely and onsite as required, abiding by organization health and safety policies.
  • Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities prior to assignment start.
  • Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
  • Satisfactory Background Checks, Technical Skills Evaluations, and Employment References.
