Reporting to the Compliance Department, the Export Controls Analyst will support the business units as well as the Global Export Controls team and will document, help execute and monitor the company’s export compliance program that addresses all export classes of goods and technologies.
We are currently looking for an Export Controls Analyst for maternity leave replacement for 13- month contract.
Meeting the above requirements entails, but is not limited to, the responsibilities described below.
A Snapshot of Your Day
Support, maintain and document transactions under the comprehensive internal export controls program to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies by establishing and supporting business processes for :
- Providing export control support for internal operation and support personnel.
- Review shipments and classification of hardware in ERP system to ensure compliance with internal process and regulatory requirements
- Review technology transfers for licensing requirements
- Review access requests to Canadian systems and technologies
- Ensure conformance to export requirements and company policy.
- Performing classification of technologies
- Assigning licenses in the various IT systems
- Review the customer and suppliers databases against sanctions lists
- Assist in the determination of export permits requirements and support the preparation of export permits submissions.
- Support the review of IT systems for compliance with Canadian legal requirements
- Maintain records of all permitted exports.
- Support the quarterly export audits and reporting
- Conduct export compliance audits in IT systems.
- Assist in the provision of trainings in support of the company export controls training program
- Assist in the continuous improvement of export processes, procedures and work instructions
How You’ll Make an Impact
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Law or Business or College diploma in Legal TechniqueExperience in high-tech corporate environment.Excellent command of English and French, both oral and writtenHighly proficient with IT systems, including Microsoft suiteExperience in a legal and / or regulatory environmentEligibility to be nominated as a Designated Official under the Controlled Goods ProgramWhat You Bring
Experience and knowledge of the following areas : Canadian Export Controls, Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) as well as applicable industry practices and standards in export complianceExperience in conducting audits and self-assessmentsExperience in drafting and processing export permit applicationsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple files simultaneouslyVery good organization and excellent sense of resourcefulnessRigor, meticulousness and precision in the execution of tasksExcellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skillsDiscretion and confidentiality of records
