The Duty Manager contributes to the overall success of the hotel by encouraging and promoting a high-performance culture within the Front Office team. They ensure high levels of Guest Service standards, support and execute all corporate strategies, and promote a work environment that exemplifies Coast Hotels Core Values. The Duty Manager is responsible for providing support and leadership to the Front Office team and all hotel departments. Responsibilities :
- Ensures superior customer service levels are maintained by all Front Office team members
- Follows and complies with Coast’s cash handling policies and procedures
- Enforces and implements Front Desk procedures and supports Front Desk / Bell / Concierge and Valet teams in the absence of the Front Office Manager
- Resolves customer concerns promptly, professionally, and in a diplomatic manner
- Ensures that the Front Office team is trained in all Coast standards
- Assists with performance reviews and coaching of the team
- Ensures effective relations and communication with other departments
- Handles the hotel’s Fire Safety and aids with all emergencies
- Maintains and monitors room inventory, availability and educates the team on rates and promotions
- Other duties as required and assigned
Skills / Knowledge / Experience :
Secondary School DiplomaBachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent combination of education and experience an assetMinimum 1 year in a hotel leadership roleSelf-motivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal & leadership skillsAbility to excel and perform well under pressureDemonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking, multi-functional team environmentExcellent communication and organizational skillsAdvanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and PMS software requiredExemplifies Coast’s core values and enjoys working in a culture of accountabilityAble to work a flexible schedule, which includes evenings, weekends, holidays, and some overnights
