The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the HR functions including onboarding, training and development, employee relations, workers compensation, and performance management, as well as ensuring compliance with state and federal laws across our California locations.

Specific Job Duties Include :

  • Facilitate onboarding and conduct orientation for all new employees.
  • Oversee the workers' compensation process by ensuring timely reporting and filing of claims, coordinating with employees, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers to facilitate claims management and return-to-work programs, as well as maintain compliance with California workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Manage the internal rewards and recognition programs for our field services business unit.
  • Monitor HR metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Oversee benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits as well as ensure compliance with ACA and other relevant laws.
  • Ensure adherence to federal and CA state laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance on performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions.
  • Organize and oversee employee training programs by identifying development needs and implement programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Facilitate communication between employees and management which may include conducting investigations to resolve workplace issues and address employee concerns.

Qualifications and Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or human resources management
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of California and federal employment laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using Paychex payroll software is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
  • Detail-oriented and extremely organized.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Work Environment / Physical Demands : This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.
