We are looking for a motivated and experienced Maintenance & Asset Manager - Equipment Division to join our team in Nisku, AB.
Position Summary :
The Maintenance and Asset Manager plays a critical role in optimizing the reliability, availability, and performance of mining equipment through the development and execution of effective maintenance programs, strategies, plans, and schedules. The role is responsible for coordinating preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with operational priorities. Working closely with site maintenance teams, operations, supply chain, and engineering, the Maintenance and Asset Manager minimizes downtime, optimizes resource utilization, and supports continuous improvement in maintenance and asset management practices.
Responsibilities :
The Maintenance and Asset Manager is expected to be responsible for managing the following aspects of Procon’s business :
- Develop, implement, and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for mobile and fixed mining equipment.
- Manage the full lifecycle of equipment and assets, including acquisition, utilization, mobilization, refurbishment, and disposal, ensuring accurate asset tracking and condition monitoring.
- Create, update, and optimize weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance plans to ensure all critical equipment receives timely preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Define scope of work, required materials, labor, tools, and safety permits for each maintenance task; ensure all job plans meet technical and regulatory standards.
- Lead the detailed planning for projects, including scope development, vendor interfaces, risk assessments, and detailed execution schedules.
- Analyze the maintenance backlog and adjust priorities based on equipment criticality, production schedules, and available resources to maximize uptime and efficiency.
- Oversee the accurate input, update, and audit of maintenance records, equipment histories, and asset hierarchies in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Track and report on key KPIs (, schedule compliance, mean time between failures, maintenance cost per hour) to drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor maintenance costs and contribute to budgeting processes by identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing resource allocation
- Ensure all maintenance activities are done safely in accordance with mining regulations, OH&S requirements, and company standards, and address equipment-related hazards, incidents, and inspections.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align maintenance activities with production and asset reliability goals, secure and schedule the necessary spares, tools, and personnel to execute planned maintenance with minimal downtime.
- Conduct technical evaluations of maintenance asset bids and provide informed feedback during the procurement process to ensure alignment with operational, reliability, and cost objectives.
- Lead change management initiatives related to maintenance practices, systems upgrades, and new technology implementation.
- Coach and mentor site personnel to strengthen maintenance planning capabilities and ensure consistent application of best practices across all planning functions.
Qualifications / Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Engineering.Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Certification or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.Certified Maintenance Planner (CMP), Certified Maintenance & Reliability Tech (CMRT), or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation considered an asset.3–5 years of progressive experience in maintenance, reliability, or engineering roles, preferably in the mining.Minimum 3 years in a dedicated maintenance leadership and planning role, with demonstrated success improving equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and schedule compliance through effective planning and coordination practices.Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).Experience using maintenance performance metrics (, schedule compliance, backlog management) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.What we offer :
