About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager who is experienced at growing and enabling teams to help build our flagship cloud-based Dental Practice Management system Dentrix Ascend for the US market. You’ll be a self-motivated individual who influences and executes technical strategic objectives, while representing your department across the wider business groups.
Our teams are mission-focused and presented with problems, supported by context and research to help them deliver valuable solutions. We are elevating our deployment frequency and technical practices – shipping effortlessly on demand. We seek to master scrum, and our company runs 2-week sprints in a 6-week cycle that enables us to solve real problems for our users and their patients, while balancing technical debt, bugs, innovation, and team growth. Our teams are directly responsible for making decisions that will improve oral care services for thousands of dental professionals and their patients.

Availability
This is a hybrid role, with one to two days in office, to facilitate brainstorming and team building. Our office is located across from Guildford Mall, in Surrey, BC.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a mission-focused team of software engineers to improve the lives of Henry Schein One users and their patients through the creation of market leading solutions
Help recruit and retain engineers to create a high performing engineering team
Oversee team performance and support the team members on their mission and delivery commitments
Enable your engineering team to practice continuous delivery at scale by removing workflow roadblocks
Inspire, motivate and coach to enable continuous development of team members
Ensure products are secure, compliant and reliable for Henry Schein One customers
Collaborate with senior leaders across vision and strategy for your workstreams and products
Work closely with Product leadership to influence and understand strategic commitments of your teams
Develop meaningful relationships and work across the business to influence others to aim for the best possible user experience
Enable process and practice maturity to deliver on global growth opportunities
Positively and collaboratively influence decision making to improve practices with your teams, department and stakeholder network
Qualifications & Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
7+ years of progressive software development experience
1–2 years leading high-performing teams
Proven success building scalable web applications for large user bases
Hands-on experience with modern SPA frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js, Ember.js)
Strong background in database technologies (Postgres, SQL Server)
Deep understanding of RESTful API design and integration
Experience connecting with internal and third-party services
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to lead, influence, and thrive in a hybrid work culture
Self-motivated, proactive, and reliable

Compensation & Benefits
The posted range for this position is between $142,750 CAD - $180,625 CAD which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient and experienced in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, training, current skills, certifications & education etc.
