Be our next Team Lead - Environmental Project Manager

Your work environment at EXP

EXP is currently searching for a Team Lead and Environmental Project Manager and to work in beautiful Eastern Ontario with an opportunity to work out of either our Ottawa or Kingston, ON, office depending on your preference. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter with 10-plus years of experience in project management, environmental site assessment and consulting services. Leading a team of environmental professionals and reporting to the Manager of Environmental Services for Eastern Ontario, this person will be responsible for a broad range of tasks.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Providing leadership, training, and operational support to junior and intermediate staff in the areas of environmental site assessment, remediation, as applicable, within the framework of Ontario Regulation 153 / 04.
  • Providing Qualified Person services for earthwork projects in accordance with Excess Soil Regulation, Ontario Regulation 406 / 19, including coordination and preparation of Assessment of Past Use Report, Soil Characterization Report, Excess Soil Destination Reports, Fill Management Plans and filing Notices on the Excess Soil Registry.
  • Advancing the growth of your professional career.
  • Managing the technical, schedule and budgetary elements of projects and providing day-to-day project management and compliance with site, corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Serving as a resource in your field(s) of expertise.
  • Drawing on technical skills and expertise to design, install, and conduct ongoing maintenance of remediation systems.
  • Analyzing and preparing documentation, presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drawing on experience in completing peer review of technical documents and reports.
  • Gaining and share knowledge through participation in technical societies and / or attendance at internal and external programs; to a degree consistent with individual and business sector goals.
  • Nurturing strong client relationships.
  • Engaging with other senior members within the firm to advance our brand and standing with clients.

What your experience looks like

  • 10+ years of experience in site remediation and / or environmental assessments.
  • or . license in Ontario (or equivalent designation from another Province or the US).
  • University degree in a related field of study such as Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology or Geology.
  • Excellent business development skills with an entrepreneurial sense of drive to service existing clients and generate new business.
  • Highly technical abilities in environmental site assessment, remediation design, combined with a mechanical aptitude.
  • Extensive working knowledge of federal and provincial guidelines / standards for contaminated sites assessments including the filing of Record of Site Condition under Ontario Regulation 153 / 04.
  • Working knowledge with Ontario Regulation 406 / 19.
  • Expertise in budget management, report preparation, and client relationship management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as advanced technical writing abilities.
  • Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, and put forth creative solutions.
  • Ability to converse and / or write in French is an asset.
