Job description

Samsung Ads, the advertising monetization arm of Samsung Electronics, leverages proprietary real-time TV viewing behavior and insights to promote relevant brands and content experiences to consumers. We partner with brands, agencies and content owners to deliver unique advertising opportunities on native placements within our Smart TV platform and programmatically with a cross device solution.

Samsung’s unique first party data help brands connect to their audience as they explore content across desktop, mobile, tablets and our Smart TVs. The Samsung Ad platform delivers high-quality audience targeting powered by three key components : first-party audience data at scale, world-class data science, and brand-safe cross-device ad inventory.

We are looking for a confident individual with strong digital operations and technical experience who understands the importance of communication, solutions and delivery. Candidates must have a strong knowledge base of digital media operations including : video, display and connected TV. Advanced TV and insights-based advertising experience is a plus. The Business Affairs Manager is expected to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company.

The Business Affairs Manager will report to the Head of Business Affairs (in NY) and to a direct manager in their local office in Toronto. Specific Responsibilities include :

  • Assist with IO intake process including reviewing the media plan for accuracy against the insertion order; rates, impressions, legal language and policy compliance
  • Review legal language as it pertains to IAB terms and conditions
  • Review contracts to ensure that they meet predefined policies including privacy policies and guidelines as provided by Samsung Ads
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information in an appropriate manner
  • Perform all other duties that ensure compliance with all standards and regulations
  • Assist in administrative duties of contract management and organization
  • Create daily logs of compliance issues and “red flags”
  • Communicate with Samsung Ads legal team and be liaison between Sales and Legal & Privacy to resolve any contractual language concerns

Qualifications :

  • 3+ years working in an organization that supports digital Advertising Sales functions
  • Must be task driven & have the ability to produce and hit key deliverable deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail, ability to multitask and strong organizational skills required.
  • Deep understanding of the digital advertising space, with knowledge of IAB and other terms and conditions language
  • Ability to review and redline agreements for legal review
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal / written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic insight to build business cases for support resources
  • Flexible work hours desirable to support multiple time zones
  • Technical Skills :

  • Use of an Order Management System such as Operative or Fattail AdBook
  • Microsoft office tools; MS Word Document Compare or related tools
  • Atlassian Confluence, JIRA
  • SLACK
  • Google Drive & Tools
