  • YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead team on client engagements for tax related activities.
  • Complete review of tax sections for working paper files including corporate and personal tax returns, charity T2s, and information returns.
  • Prioritize workflow including utilization of tax seniors and other staff, as well as recognizing and implementing more efficient work processes.
  • Apply Income Tax Act and other tax regulations to given client situations.
  • Conduct tax research as required and provide proactive tax planning alternatives.
  • Resolve tax issues with staff, partners, CRA, and clients for timely completion.
  • Answer technical questions and inquiries from Tax and Audit staff and clients, clearly explaining reasoning, process, and results.
  • Stay abreast of current developments and changing laws within Tax through continuing professional development and self-learning.
  • Manage, train, and delegate work to Tax staff based on complexity, availability, and deadline considerations.
  • Manage the personal tax season ensuring that staff are following proper procedures.
  • Review monthly tax newsletter and make revisions as needed.
  • YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • CA designation.
  • Completion of CICA In Depth tax.
  • 5 years post In Depth tax practical experience with exposure to a broad range of client tax issues.
  • Previous responsibilities to support appropriate level of skill, professional competence, and judgment.
  • Proven research, investigative, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated client relations skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in software programs including Caseware, Caseview, Taxprep, and MS Office.
