Job Type : Full-Time Permanent.
Target Compensation : From $110,000 to $130,000 per annum base salary, with some flexibility according to experience, plus year-end bonus and benefits.
Regular Work Hours : From 9 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday (40 work hours per week). Additional work hours occasionally required pending volumes of matters.
Work Location : 100% onsite at client's East GTA office, with free parking provided.
Travel Requirements : Occasional local travel to other GTA site locations.
Position Reports To : Head Legal Counsel and CFO.
Responsibilities Summary :
In-House Real Estate Litigation Counsel to enhance and expand capacity of in-house legal team to manage previously outsourced litigation matters, independently handling a portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation files, including new condominium purchaser default files, illegal tenant files, and commercial lease and contract disputes. Will work collaboratively with external corporate investors as well as property management, sales, marketing, accounting and executive teams to support innovative commercial and residential real estate development projects within the GTA, exercising strong advocacy, negotiation, legal research and drafting skills to contribute to all aspects of real estate and development operations.
Additional advisory, dispute resolution and litigation matters as required.
Qualifications :
Education : JD / LLB from a recognized law school.
Professional Credentials : Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
Preferred Work Experience : Approximately 3 years of post call experience in commercial and residential real estate litigation.
Preferred Sector Experience : Law firm or legal inhouse experience in dispute resolution (litigation, mediation, arbitration) related to real estate law, condominium law, contracts law or construction law.
Technical and Language Skills Requirements :
Expert level English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and collaboratively, and in an advisory capacity, and liaise effectively with a wide and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
