A Day in the Life of a Collision Repair Technician
- Execute all activities on the R/O, ensuring to notify the Production Manager of any additional damage that does not appear on the R/O.
- Repair and replace front‑end components, body components, doors, frame and underbody components as per manufacturer’s specifications.
- Scan vehicles to determine any codes related to the accident and record all data in BMS (Business Management System).
- Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place.
- Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure quality standards in restoration and repair, reducing rework and warranty claims.
- Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation.
- Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.
- Other related tasks as required.
Requirements
- High school or college automotive body repair diploma.
- Body Technician license preferred.
- At least 2–3 years of experience as a Body Shop Technician preferred.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
