The Opportunity - Alberta based position

The  Junior / Intermediate Instrumentation Technologist  will provide instrumentation leadership within our interdisciplinary and innovative project team. The Technologist will be a critical part of our success, ensuring that technical excellence, cost, schedule, and contractual requirements are achieved. The Junior / Intermediate Instrumentation Technologist will report to the Instrumentation Lead and be supported by Senior Instrumentation Technologist.

Key Responsibilities

As a key contributor to the Kleinfelder team, your responsibilities will include

• Collaborating closely with team members to develop innovative technical approaches and solutions for single- and multi-discipline projects.
• Assisting with instrumentation engineering and design development over the entire project lifecycle through calculations, sketches, drawings, and specifications.
• Preparing and revising documentation through all project phases and modifying technical drawings and work plans according to engineering principles and procedures.
• Performing instrumentation sizing calculations, including control valve sizing, orifice plate sizing, wake frequency calculations, using standard techniques and specialized software.
• Developing project deliverables including instrumentation datasheets, schematics, wiring diagrams, standard details, junction box layouts, bills of materials, instrument layout, control panel layouts, control narratives, shut down keys, and design details.
• Performing detailed reviews of codes, standards, and specifications to ensure designs meet all project requirements.
• Conduct field reviews to develop project scope, meet with project stakeholders, and verify field conditions.
• Providing construction support for projects, including RFI and shop drawing review, and field inspections.
• Assisting project managers and senior engineers in developing and managing project scope, budget, and schedule.
• Assisting client account managers, project managers, and senior engineers with business development duties as required.
• Following developing technologies in instrumentation and control.
• Completion of other relevant duties as required.
