Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate was opened in 2001 with a vision to have a state-of-the-art facility that would facilitate the production of ultra-premium VQA wines. Jackson-Triggs Estate is a terroir driven facility that sources the majority of is fruit from its own well renowned and celebrated vineyards. These vineyards allow us to focus on our award-winning brands such as Entourage and Grand Reserve.
We are hiring an enthusiastic Harvest Intern for the 2026 Harvest. This position runs between September 1st through to November 27th, 2026.
Who You Are:
- . Possesses a strong work ethic and genuine passion for wine, ready to tackle the long, physical hours required during harvest, from cleaning tanks to operating the crusher.
- . Consistently punctual and organized, with excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with the winemaking team, report fermentation issues, and go above and beyond to get the job done.
- . Approaches every task, from inoculations to daily temperature checks, with a willingness to learn new techniques and procedures, and isn't afraid to ask questions to deepen their understanding.
- . Understands that cleanliness is paramount in quality winemaking and takes pride in maintaining a spotless environment, while possessing the organization and focus to manage multiple tasks and follow safety protocols.
Role Overview:
- . Assist in grape sampling and analysis.
- . We average 200 tons per harvest.
- . Primarily hand harvested fruit.
- Work on the sorting table required.
- Operating equipment on the crush pad and cellars to press grapes and clarify juice.
- Racking, transferring, and blending wine/juice.
- . This will be a huge task, you will gain experience with multiple types of additions for juice, ferments and possibly finished wines.
- We maintain a daily cap management program using.
- Cleaning is a huge part of making great wine! We strive to keep everything as clean as possible always. You will be trained in cleaning various sized tanks, totes, bins, crushing equipment, barrels, and floors.
- . Barrel maintenance, sulphur, cleaning, rehydrating, filling and storing of red/white barrels. We manage a 500-barrel program on site as well as additional 500 offsite. Could be involved in receiving/ preparing new barrels for production.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
Job Requirements:
- . Winemaking and Viticulture Diploma or equivalent
- . Less than 1 year
- . ISO 9001:2000, HACCP, GMP, Winemaking, and WHMIS
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong ability to follow written instructions
- Work independently
- Effective communication skills
- Strong People skills and a team player
- Multi-tasking
- Goal oriented
- Mechanical aptitude
- Must be able and willing to work overtime as required
- Shift work is necessary
- This position may require physical effort which entails lifting and moving up to and including 50lbs
- Able to work at heights (catwalk)

- Outdoor work may be required, in all weather conditions

Compensation:
Budgeted Range – $18.50/hr. to $25.50/hr. The budgeted range will align with qualifications, including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements.
