What you’ll be doing :
- Data analysis and reporting to support decision making across the organization
- Participating in period end close process including journaling transactions into the system.
- Analysis and preparation of financial statements and monthly departmental variance reports, including detailed salary analysis
- Month end journals and account reconciliations
- Provide exceptional customer service and accounting expertise to cross-functional areas
- Assist with the year-end external audit process, preparation of relevant working papers, responding to audit queries and information requests
- Continuous process improvement and work flow efficiencies across the finance department
- Participate in system improvements and / or new system implementation
- Support the annual budget process and all ancillary reporting
- Accurate & timely Ministry reporting including quarterly MIS submissions, quarterly Ontario Health reports, ad hoc requests
- Support senior management with special projects and other financial analysis as required
What we’re looking for :
Two plus years of relevant accounting, data analysis and financial reporting experience, healthcare knowledge is an assetAbility to demonstrate superior Excel knowledge for advanced data manipulation and analysisUniversity degree or College diploma in a related fieldCompletion of, or close to completing an accounting designation (CPA, CMA, ACCA etc).Experience with either AS400, Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Sage is considered an assetStrong analytical skills and the ability to discuss observations of financial information with all levelsExcellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlinesStrong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to analyze problems, identify solutions and implement the recommended course of actionProven ability to work independently and as a team memberAs part of our commitment to the health and safety of our patients, staff and community from COVID-19, subject to any accommodation required by applicable human rights legislation, Homewood Health Centre requires that all staff have received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada.
