These positions are casual / on-call for short term assignments.
You must be available at least 3 days per week.
Assignments are in schools / sites located across the TDSB.
Child and Youth Workers support students in skill development, self management and problem solving to improve academic achievement. Programs are developed to meet the individual needs of each student.
develop and provide individual behaviour management programs for students in consultation with the classroom teacher
provide assistance for students in the acquisition, reinforcement and maintenance of academic, communication and social skill
providing services as part of a multidisciplinary team
can be assigned to individual students through SIP grants
Rate of pay : 40.89 per hour
Schedule : up to 7 hours per day between 8 : 00 am and 5 : 00 pm
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of one year experience
Experience working with children and youth requiring additional educational supports from diverse ethno-cultural and racial backgrounds
Child & Youth Care Degree and Membership in the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Counselors are assets
