With over 40 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services,Associated Ambulanceis proud to be the largest private EMS operator in Alberta. We deliver Advanced Life Support (ALS), Basic Life Support (BLS) and Inter Facility Transfer Services to 22 rural and 2 metro locations across Alberta.
Associated Ambulance is currently seeking astrategic finance leader to drive the organizations financial forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis. This newly created role is crucial to the organization to guide company strategy and ensure a future growth path that will align finances with business objectives. Current Direct Reports include : 1-Controller, 1-Billing Supervisor, 1- AP / AR Specialist, 2- Billing Administrators
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a finance business partner to department and operational leaders, analyzing and translating financial data into actionable business insights.
- Lead the preparation and presentation of monthly financial reports, variance analysis, and performance commentary related to operational performance and set KPIs.
- Manage the preparation of financial forecasts and capital budgets in alignment with corporate and business planning cycles.
- Monitor, record, report and interpret financial information with the ability to interpret and apply the Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) for financial statement preparation.
- Lead the development of annual budgets, and long-range financial forecasting processes.
- Conduct scenario modeling and sensitivity analyses to evaluate the impact of policy changes, industry trends, and macroeconomic shifts.
- Oversee the preparation of materials for and actively participate in meeting with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the Board of Directors.
- Maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders to anticipate operational and economic changes.
- Lead meetings and presentations with internal Business Planning teams and Senior Leadership to communicate deliverables and results.
- Serves as the companys subject matter expert in planning and budgeting, implementing best practices and providing ongoing analysis of business performance.
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals to maximize accounts receivable success and the timely processing of accounts payables
- Develop policies and procedures to ensure strong financial controls within the organization that align with the Board expectations
First Year Deliverables
Development of strong working relationships with the Senior Leadership Team, Executive Leadership Team, the Finance Department and external stakeholdersReview current financial processes and provide recommendations for efficienciesIdentify and implement a cloud-based accounting system that creates alignment with all key departments within the organizationDevelop a robust budgeting process that aligns with the organizations business planning processesDevelop a consistent monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc financial reporting process with forecasting models and variance analysisQualifications & Experience
University degree in Commerce, Accounting or related field such as Business (or other related program), plus a minimum of five (5) years experience.A Canadian accounting designation Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, application of the Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and preparation of financial statements.Strong skills in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.Experience with internal controls and process development.Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Significant Management and people leading experienceWhy Join Associated Ambulance?
