About the role :

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Supervisor, the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is responsible for working with a group of professionals to support mining operations at Fording River. They will learn engineering practices with the guidance and mentorship of a team committed to safe production and sustainability. At EVR, an EIT will develop over a 4‑year program with rotations approximately every 18 to 24 months, giving you the experience and exposure to build well‑rounded skills to become a successful professional engineer.

To be successful, we are looking for someone who has the ability to adapt to changing roles in a mining environment, who is a positive, motivated, and forward‑thinking individual. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working in a collaborative team environment are vital in this role.

Working at Elkview Operations in BC’s Elk Valley, you’ll have the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of mining engineering including short / mid / long range planning, drill and blast, projects, and more. This training will set you up for a long career within the industry where you will see your work translate into real‑world changes.
