Our client, Walsh & Company is looking for motivated, self-managed individuals to join their team. Walsh & Company currently works 4-day weeks May-December, and 5-day weeks January-April. They are open to a part-time schedule but would ask for increased hours during the months of March and April.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Staff Accountant is responsible and accountable for :
- Planning, organizing and implementing the tasks to deliver on time, on budget execution while providing exceptional customer service.
- Always acting in Walsh & Company’s best interests.

- To lead everything you are responsible for well.
- Plan, prepare and index information for compilation, review and audit engagements
- Prepare accurate and properly formatted financial statements with appropriate disclosures and ensure that CPA Canada Handbook principles are followed where appropriate
Tax
Prepare corporate, personal, partnership and trust tax returnsPrepare tax research where required to respond to client queriesSupervision
Supervise, train, develop and mentor co-op studentsMay be required to step into any role within the firm in order to support the team as needed.Other
Communicate effectively with clients to obtain information and provide basic advicePrepare / review ongoing payroll as necessary for clientsInteract with all levels of staff, including partners, on client and administrative mattersQUALIFICATIONS :
