Job Description
Our civil / structural team, specializing in hydropower and dams engineering, is looking for a project engineer. With a solid reputation in the field of hydroelectricity and dams, our team carries out multidisciplinary projects in energy with the with the main players in the market. We offer a flexible hybrid work model, enabling you to work from home and from one of our offices in Quebec (Montreal, Laval, Sherbrooke, Quebec City, Gatineau, etc.)
Primary Responsibilities
- Design new hydraulic structures (dams, spillways, water intakes, etc.) and hydroelectric facilities
- Carry out engineering for the refurbishment of hydraulic structures and hydroelectric facilities
- Carry out design calculations in reinforced concrete and structural steel
- Carry out feasibility studies, preliminary designs and various studies
- Carrying out stability studies on dams and various hydraulic structures
- Participate in dam safety assessment studies
- Carrying out inspections of hydraulic structures and hydroelectric schemes
- Engineering for the preparation of technical plans and specifications
- Participating in the analysis of construction methods
- Helping to estimate project costs
- Providing technical support (in the office and / or on site) during construction work
- In the medium term, support and manage less experienced engineers and technicians
- In the medium term, may be responsible for multidisciplinary technical coordination and project management
Qualifications
University Degree in civil engineeringExperience in civil / structural engineeringExperience in the hydroelectricity and dams sector (an asset)More than three (3) years' experience in structural design (mainly concrete and steel structures)Member of l'Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible for registrationFluency in spoken and written FrenchFluency in spoken and written English in a professional context to ensure communications on certain projects at national level (an asset)Autonomy, initiative and ability to work as part of a teamWhy choose CIMA+?
