Shift Work Labourer - Entry Level

Howe Sound Pulp & Paper Corporation is currently recruiting for entry level labouring positions. Labour pool employees may be assigned to all areas of the mill as needed. The position is responsible for a variety of job activities, including but not limited to housekeeping, equipment operation, and other general mill duties as assigned or required. The duties depend on the priority of the assignments. A successful applicant must be willing and able to meet the demands of a 24 / 7 operation, including working a 12-hour rotating shift which includes weekends and holidays.

• Ensure the cleanliness and safety of your assigned area
• Comply with health, safety and environmental standards
• Complete other duties as assigned
• Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule
• An uncompromising approach to safety for yourself and your co-workers
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
• Ability to perform repetitive, manual tasks for extended periods of time; included, but not limited to standing for long hours, walking, shoveling, climbing stairs, bending and lifting
• Ability to work with or around machinery and equipment

You will be required to successfully complete a selection process that will include aptitude tests, reference verifications and panel interviews.
