PRIMARY PURPOSE

Reporting to the Engineering Department heads, Mechanical Designers are primarily responsible for general design and drafting of mechanical systems within the manufacturing industry. This includes general engineering drawings / document updates and participation in project meetings. Candidates will have exceptional oral and written communication skills and must be proficient with 3D solid modelling and simulation software (i.e. SolidWorks). They enjoy a dynamic working environment and are able to work well alone or within a multidisciplinary team. They also must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Good understanding of mechanical designs, manufacturing systems, modeling and drafting.
• Researches, evaluates, analyzes and tests the causation of accidents and failures.
• Collaborates with other engineering disciplines.
• Follows industry acceptable methodology for performance of services.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors and prospects.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

Meets or exceeds productivity levels and daily time submission as determined by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing

Experience

Three to five years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
