About the Role :

We are seeking a full-time Business Development Manager (BDM) for the Marine / Ocean Tech sector to join our SatCom team.

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Business Development, the BDM is a self-motivated and driven professional who will represent the company at various international trade shows, be focused on developing new business in the Marine / Ocean Tech space, growing our international partner network, and managing strategic accounts.

As a member of our Sales Team, you will be responsible for developing new customers in the IoT and Ocean Tech sectors and connecting with key business executives and stakeholders. The BDM requires excellent communication skills, both over the phone and through email, and must love to build relationships and make strong, value-based connections with customers and prospects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Drive new revenue and expand business opportunities.
  • Source, foster, and manage new and existing client relationships.
  • Identify and research competitors, understanding their offerings and our unique value proposition.
  • Research potential clients in new and existing markets, pursuing leads, and moving through the sales cycle
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients.
  • Participate in and manage presence at industry-relevant exhibitions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Follow the MetOcean Sales Process with daily updates and tracking of sales, revenue, and opportunities.
  • Manage sales forecasting and planning.
  • Manage to attend exhibitions, conferences, and shows as required.

Technical and Non-Technical Skills :

  • Has a strong business acumen.
  • A professional demeanor and ability to interact with the highest levels both inside and outside the organization.
  • Has the aptitude to understand the full breadth of the company's products and services.
  • Is extremely self-sufficient and can deliver necessary work with minimal supervision.
  • Has a strong sense of customer service.
  • Demonstrates excellent skills in working as part of a team.
  • Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of proven international business development experience and relationship building.
  • Experience in the Marine / Ocean Tech sector.
  • Proven ability to proactively engage with leaders and facilitate discussions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Ability to obtain CANADA and NATO security clearance.
  • Available to travel domestically and internationally.
